I have commenced my career at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC) in Medical Record Dept. since 2000. At the end of 2001, I was selected to be enrolled in the Diploma of Health Record Technician run by Training and Development Dept. at KFSHRC. Then I have been granted a scholarship in 2007 from KFSHRC to continue further education and to obtain the degrees of Bachelor of Health Science, specializing in Clinical Coding & Classification, and Master of Health Information Management from Latrobe University in Melbourne, Australia. Upon returning to Saudi Arabia after completion my degrees by the end of 2011, I was appointed for about 2 years as an assistant Head of Medical Records Services at KFSHRC, and then I have been promoted to the department Head. In the mid of 2016, I have moved to Saudi Health Council where I was appointed as a Director of Health Classifications and standards. Currently, I am certified Health Information Manager and a member of some international professional organizations including Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA), American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), International Federation for Health Information Management Associations (IFHIMA), and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
