In combination, this venue represents one of the biggest health informatics meetings in the Middle East region. The ICIHI 2017 aims to play an important role in the dissemination and exchange of Health information research, not only throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the surrounding areas and regions but also globally. I would like to express my deep appreciation and gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Honorary President of the Saudi Association for Health Informatics, for his generous and unlimited support towards SAHI. I would also like to thank his H.E. Dr. Bandar Alknawy, Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, for his continuous support, contribution and firm commitment to the health informatics domain.
ICIHI is designed to inspire and motivate our health informatics workforce to become more involved in the Saudi Vision 2030. The scientific program of the event includes more than 15 keynote speeches from well-recognized international and national experts of the field. In addition, it includes a rich set of scientific articles that cover a wide range of important topics in the domain of advanced technologies of Health Informatics. The conference received 112 submissions from scholars of 16 countries including: Bahrain, Egypt, France, India, Italy, Malaysia, Norway, Pakistan, Portugal, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE, UK, Canada, and USA. Each submission was reviewed by at least 2, and on the average 3, program committee members. The international scientific committee of the conference included 64 members who decided to accept 33 papers (acceptance rate of 29%).
Many individuals, associations and organizations have made this congress possible. The commitment of the Scientific and Organizing Committee members assisted in delivering a successful congress program. Great thanks go to the Program Committee members, who review papers from a variety range of areas. Special thanks go to our invited speakers and all the authors who submitted papers to ICIHT`17. Without all of your genuine support, the congress could not have made this success. Last, but not least, our thanks go to the technically co-sponsored organizations, which are the International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Western Saudi Arabia section for their support.
